Im going to apply for a Schengen Visa this month. My main destination and the first point of entry is France. What are main points that i need to keep in mind when applying for this visa. I have a annual travel insurancepolicy, so i know this will help my application. what are the other things that u might think will be important to my application. In the application form it ask for how many days that you required the visa.can i put like 300 days ?Im in UK, and i have been to france beforeIm not British citizan

Apply for the visa at the French Consulate in your country. Complete all of the form correctly and indicate that you intend travelling around the EU. Schengan visas' do not cover the UK & Ireland though and you may be required to get a separate visa if you intend to leave mainland Europe

You can try for 300 days, but realistically they have only ever given me 3 months (90 days) - I have heard of some folk getting 6 months though.Good luck and enjoy your trip. The visa's take ages to come though, I hope you have given yourself enough time to apply.

Having travel insurance is not a guarantee..Having sufficient funds is, what your connection still with your home country is (so prepare to show proof of employment, proof oh home ties - ie home ownership, parent relations etc).. You would also need to show (sometimes, your bank account statement)...It helps somewhat if you have been to the UK> France would be the easiest of the Schengan countries to apply for the visa. But does that mean that you will get it upon first try.Good luck.
