Default can my grandpaw lay claim to a life insurance policy his soon to be ex wife cashed in back in august?

my grandpaw is getting a divorce from my step grandmother. after he had a stroke in feb 07, she had him sign a power of attorney. in august, she went to the life insurance company and withdrew a life insurance policy that was on her. is he able to lay claim to part of that money since they where married at the time? thank youits in ohio, while hes been in the hospital, shes withdrawn from their mutual savings account around 14000 dollars and put it into an account with her daughter, i think we can get that back. she was hoping he would die, pretty sad 26 years marrige. said i dont want to take care of him, you take care of him. this bitch will prob live forever, i dont think hell even wants her, shes just plain evil. thanks for the help

depends on the state. If the insurance was bought during the marriage I think he has the right to half of the money. Talk to a lawyer.

Yes he's entitled to half of everything. If she's spent it, he might not get anything back. Don't let him leave with out his half of everything. Get a lawyer. Good Luck

You need to talk to a lawyer. If money is a problem, check a local law school. There should be hoards of students there eager to help.Good luck.
