Default Conservatives, If you had no health insurance and were suddenly diagnosed with a terminal illness?

If it is terminal then I would have saved a lot of health care premiums. I would feel like a THIEF if I tricked others into paying for my health insurance.

B, life is what you make it. Life is a great game of chess, if you make a bad move you live with the consequences and play on. Of course in life like chess it is best to plan ahead, and even at 24 I have health insurance.

America would have universial health care already,If democratic majority congress's had not blocked health care reform in 1973, 1978 and 1993.In all three cases, health care reform bills were before congress and in all three cases, the democratic party prevented them from leaving committee to be voted on.I bet you didn't know that did you ?Nixion first proposed national health care back in 1973, the democrats killed it quick, Carter proposed it next, same thing, the democrats in congress killed it quick. Then Clinton proposed universial health care, some conservatives were agaist it , ( ie: the tv ads ), but some were for it, ( chamber of commerce ).But the problem was, there were three different health care bills, in committee, and the democratic party kept fighting over which plan to send out of committee to be voted on by congress. So the Democrat Chaimen of that committee, decided to just not send any of the bills to congress for a vote.So we'll never know, if any of the bills would have passed congress or not, they refused to let congress vote on the issue..I think america will end up with universial health care at some point in the future. But what gets me, is the outright refusal of those proposing universial health care now, to discuss:What it would cost. How it would be funded.Who would make decisions on what care is provided. When you ask, what it would cost or how to fund it, You get answers like, it would be cheaper than we pay now,Or, if we spent the money we are spending in iraq, we could fund it.Both are ridiculous. neither are real answers. The war in Iraq has cost an average of 100 billion a year. Now just how will 100 billion fund universial health care ?Thats just $333.00 per person,Now who inthier right mind, thinks you can provide health care to everyone, for $333.00 a year ?Universial health care is going to cost atleast a trillion dollars a year.Yes a trillion dollars a year.Thats about $3,300 per person, per year.Thats less than the $5,000 per person per year, we now pay for medicare enrollee's.Now in case you didn't know it, in 2007, the US only had 1.4 trillion in individual and corporate income tax revenue. So either your willing to cut almost all other federal programs to spend 70% of the federal budget on health care.Or we are going to need a massive amount of new tax revenue to fund universial health care. When people start seriously talking about universial health care, and talking about the cost, the funding level needed. Then, we can have a debate on the issue.

conservatives are really good at saying "sometimes you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet"... and then backing off of it as soon as they get involved...so of course you'll say C.... but I wonder what happens in actual application?for example, all conservatives I have ever known believe the vast majority of people in jail are guilty and thus think criminals shouldn't have rights... and while there may be a few innocent people in jail, that's the price we pay for society... and many care little about people even on trail and say things like "if they're on trial, they're probably guilty"... but a few white rich boys at Duke get accused of something and all of a sudden they all become criminal rights activists... and it's not OK to "break eggs to make an omelet" anymore...

D. I'd become a Liberal Democrat and expect that everything I ever need or want will be provided to me at taxpayers expense.By the way, I am Conservative and I have had to go without health insurance for periods of time exceeding a year. As someone with pre-existing conditions Health Insurance companies are allowed to refuse to sell me coverage and yet somehow I manage not to expect the government to pick up my tab.
