How to sale insurance What to expect?
Experience.AIG is a good company, also a very large company. As far as books, I've read some and went to a couple sales seminars but in the end, you develop your own style. See if they'll allow you to sit in with an experienced sales agent and listen to the way they handle calls. That was the best experience I had. Leads, most likely are going to cost you. Your first prospects should be yourself, family and friends. Writing some policies this way allows you to become more familiar with the quoting and writing of the policies and they'll cut you some slack while you're starting. You get better at it as you become more comfortable with your products and rejection.I've been P & C for 6 years and recently licensed in Life & Health. At first, I knew what I was doing but all the rules and regulations will make you doubt yourself when you talk with the "engineer types", that drill you on everything. You gotta keep plugging away at it, it gets much easier over time. Also, if you don't know an answer or you're not sure, don't BS anyone. Find the answer. Many people out there remember or write down everything you say and they'll catch your mistakes.Overall, it's a great industry and many days, you'll feel a great sense of accomplishment helping people. Don't let rejection discourage you because it's going to happen over and over, just focus on the ones that want your help. You'll learn to pick them out pretty quick.
