Default In Home Childcare?

I am trying to provide childcare for 3 children including my son--which will be 4 kids in the home (ages 0-4yrs.) Is there a limit to how many kids I can watch. I don't want to watch more than 4--I just wanted to know. I don't have a license. (I live in N.C.) I am also going to make a contract--what things should I include in it? Also is $75.00 a week per child too much to ask for? I have childcare/daycare experience, valid N.C. driver's license/insurance, clean background, and provide the parents with references. If you have any helpful information or comments I will greatly appreciate it!

i know in california(not sure if its the same everywhere) you can only watch one families children(no limit on #) plus your own kids without a license. if you have more than one family than you must have a license.

I don't know what it's like in NC, but in CA I pay $35/day for in-home daycare, and that's a good price here! The law over here is you can't have more than 4 kids under 1, or no more than 8 kids older than 1 per person.

You need to contact your city and state governments and ask what the requirements are. You'll have to have home inspections, fire saftey inspections, as well as CPR and first aid training.

Average going rate for where I live (Canada) is $25/day per child for anything over 5 hours.Make sure to write down a policy statement - when payments are expected, what parents should provide (change of clothes, which meals you'll provide/they'll provide...my once a week wonder lady provides snacks, milk and juice, but lunch is the parent's responsibility)...which days, hours you are open for business (some parents will try to get you to extend your hours), your policy on sick kids (when to keep them at home), etc.Good luck!

Default In Home Childcare?

I am taking classes to get my CDA, and I have been planning an entire family child care program. There are two wonderful websites, http://www.angelfire.com/dc/childsplay/, and http://www.supportingproviders.com/index.htm. There have tons of free forms you can download or print in Word. There are contracts, permission slips, receipts, and more! In your contract, you should include your rates and additional fees (late payment, returned check), hours and days of reserved care, payment schedule, third party payers, other adults for pickup, and parents' personal info.I think $75/wk. is a great price! In my plan I charged $110 for infants, $100 for toddlers, $80 for preschoolers, and $60 for before and after school care.If you have the experience, you should think about getting licensed, because there are grants and food programs that will give you extra money for your business. That is the most important thing to remember, that this is your business, and to act in a professional manner! Hope this helped, and good luck!

You have to check your laws regarding daycare. Each state has different requirements. How many hours a week will you be caring for the kids...I think that $75.00 is way too cheap. i charge 150 for m-f 730 to 530 and i provide am and pm snacks with juice or milk. Make sure that you get paid on Mondays for the week. That way you don't hear the excuse that they will pay you next week. and make list of your closings for holidays etc... I would also decide weither or not you will be on the books..that's important too. good luck, there is a lot of money to be made in daycare.

Your state's dept of children should have the limit on there, it is usually 4 or 5 without a license. 75/week sounds cheap to me, daycares here in Houston cahrge from 140-200/week
