I have been going with Allstate home insurance for about 15 years now. This year Allstate has raised their rate nationwide, I was wondering if anyone can recommend other reasonable home owner insurer for the NYC (Bronx) area. I tried comparing rates with Geico and they are not any cheaper, Any recommendations?

Well, you need to contact an INDEPENDENT agent who can get you quotes to 4-5 different companies in your area. Right now you're acting as your own agent, shopping it out. An independent will save you a bunch of time. But you might find out, that the new rates ARE the current "reasonable" rates - and it's highly possible that Allstate was undercharging.
