Yes, And no bunch of paperwork, I just got a hospital card, the Doctors charge is 55 cents per visit ,I pay higher prices, not to wait in line, his after hour fee is $2.50 per visit . My medication cost is just a fraction of what it was in the States.Thailand has Socialized medicine and they are not taxed to death to have it. Strange "the Third World " can give their citizens Universal medical coverage and The richest country in the world can't.I pay for my medical out of pocket, it is cheaper that way and less any paper work and headaches then dealing with insurance companies.

A Thai doctor is probably worth $0.55 a visit.

That seems ridiculously low, but i do think our health system has a long way to go. Visits should be more affordable to the average person.

In my country I pay barely a thing for health care whereas in America we were paying 450.00 per month. I recently had a gardening accident and went to the ER. I walked in and the nurse took my info immediately. She then apologized profusely because ther would be a wait. I sat down, picked up a magazine, read one article and was called back. The nurse that took me back told me there would be a wait but to bear with them. I sat in my little room, took off my jacket and got comfortable. The doctor came right in, telling me he was sorry and he knew my hand must be hurting. He patched it up and sent me on my way telling me to come in for the next four days to have my dressings changed. Free of charge of course. We pay 10.00 to see the GP. Our prescriptions are 5.00. Ongoing prescriptions are free. Emergency care is free. Operations are free. Minimum wage is 11.00 per hour. ALL employees get 4 weeks vacation after 1 year of employment. Our taxes take care of us, not our corporations. And we go to war torn countries to do humanitarian aid. Of course the ignorant will say America is the best country. I hope they keep believing that so they will stay there.

hell, for $0.55 per visit, I would happily see a thai doc over a US doc.. considering the average life span in thailand is what... only 8 years lower despite being a third world country? This is also great considering they have less than 25 doctors per 100,000 people while we have 350+...http://ucatlas.ucsc.edu/health/professional.php
