You can not buy title insurance in hindsight. I think it is highly unlikely, unless you paid cash, that you could purchase the home without title insurance, a lender would require it. If you do not have clear title, it is possible for someone to take the home, even if no one else has lived there. If someone is exercising a right on title to this property, you need a real estate attorney immediately.
